Couple’s Baby-and-Kitten Video Takes Internet By Storm!

Every year, a large number of cats are taken to shelters because a new baby has arrived and parents believe well-meaning relatives or old-school obstetricians who have convinced them that keeping a cat near the child risks the health and well-being of the baby. There is absolutely no reason to give up a cat when a baby arrives. Simple, common sense precautions can prepare your cat for your baby’s arrival home, and keep both safe and happy.

A cat can bring your child a lot of joy and teach him a variety of important lessons. “A cat can help your child practice good social skills,” says Dr. Jane Brunt, a feline specialist and member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

When professional photographers Erin and Theresa Rouse of Hello Little, a Milwaukee-area photography studio, planned a newborn shoot for their cousin’s baby, they did not plan to create something viral. Erin and Theresa Rouse took an adorable video of their cousin’s baby and kitten a few weeks ago. When they filmed it, they had no idea it would go viral. They used what they had to capture the amazing moment, their smart phones and the natural light.

The video features the newborn baby and a kitten swaddled and resting together. It has almost 3 million views and over 50,000 people from all over the world have shared it.

“We decided that our new baby needed a newborn session. This was so entertaining to do!” they wrote on Facebook.

One day before the video was taken, Erin’s mom rescued the small cute kitten who was abandoned on the side of the road. She took him in her care as he needed to be bottle-fed.

Despite the success of this video, the women warn against non-professionals attempting photo shoots with babies and animals together.
