Easter Lily Is Poisonous To Cats!

Easter lily, called aso Lilium longiflorum is a species of flowering plant in the lily family. It is a bulb plant that originated in Taiwan and southern Japan. Although the plant comes from eastern Asia, it can be easy found in other parts of the world, particularly in the northern California and southern Oregon region.

For many people, the trumpet-shaped white flowers symbolize purity, virtue, innocence, hope and life, the spiritual essence of Easter.

Despite the beauty of this flower, easter lilies are in no way safe for cats. In fact, the plants are actually toxic to the feline species, although they are not poisonous to dogs and horses. If your cat gets in her mouth on any segment of this plant she can be poisoned. Some effects of Easter lily toxicity in cats are: exhaustion, renal failure, bad breath, withdrawn behavior, convulsions, absence of appetite, exhaustion, excessive thirst, dehydration and vomiting. Some cats can even die if they eat it.
