A Christmas Miracle, Lost Cat Returns To Her Family 3 Years Later

Losing your cat is like losing a member of the family, and that’s scary. You’ll worry, you’ll fear for their well being, and you’ll turn over every rock until you find them. Despite your best efforts, accidents can happen. Someone leaves a door open and your best intentions go away: your cat escapes and gets lost.

Raja the cat was lost in 2014 when she was living with her family in Florida. After much searching and heartbreak, they assumed Raja had been stolen since he’s part Bengal. The Tuttles now live in Virginia.

Three years later a man brought a stray cat to Georgetown Campus. The cat was chipped, but the chip didn’t directly link to the cat or her family. After some researching, a BVSPCA staffer connected the pieces to the Tuttle family, who is now living in Virginia. Sean, Stephanie and Emily Tuttle went to the Georgetown Campus to finally bring their beloved cat home.

“BREAKING: A Christmas miracle in Georgetown! Raja got out from his family’s Florida home back in 2014. After much searching and heartbreak, they assumed Raja had been stolen since he’s part Bengal. Fast forward to Tuesday, a man brought a stray cat to our Georgetown Campus. The cat was chipped, but the chip didn’t directly link to the cat or its family. After researching several angles, a BVSPCA staffer connected the pieces to the Tuttle family, who now live in Virginia. Sean, Stephanie and Emily Tuttle came to the Georgetown Campus today to finally bring Raja home.” wrote Brandywine Valley SPCA on Facebook.

Raja was lucky to be reunited with her lost family because she was Microchipped. One of the ways to increase the chances of finding your lost cat is having it microchipped. Having your cats microchipped is an important first step in increasing your chances that you’ll be reunited with them if they run away, get lost or get stolen.
