Woman Comes Home To Find Her Cats Almost Passed Out After Trying Her Homegrown Marijuana!

Cats will always chew on plants. And, because they love to climb and explore, it is difficult to keep plants away from them. Therefore, if you are going to have plants in your house, or if you let your cat out in your yard, you need to be able to accurately identify the plants to which your cat will be exposed. If you have doubts, however, it is best to remove the plant from your home. A woman learned an important lesson about keeping cats and homegrown Marijuana together. When she returned home she was surprised to find her plants toppled over and her cats under their effect…

One of the cats, named Gizmo was almost passed out under a chair, while the other cat let out a lethargic meow.

“My grow lights had broken and I moved my plants onto the porch for about 15-20 minutes. When I went out to move them back into the grow room my cats had eaten all the plants.” the cats human wrote.

Cats parents must be vigilant about storing the Marijuana whether it is in oil, plant or edible form out of paws’ reach. This plant can be life-threatening for cats, depending on the amount or strength of the plant ingested. It is not safe for cats to ingest human-grade marijuana. Cats are poisoned by marijuana by inhaling second-hand smoke, eating marijuana-laced food, or scarfing down the stash directly.

When it comes to marijuana use and cats you have to be very careful. Keep all forms of the plant, medical or recreational, out of reach of your cat. Then maybe the startling 200% increase in marijuana toxicity cases called in to the Pet Poison Helpline will begin to decline. If you notice suspicious behavior in your cat take your cat immediately to the veterinarian or the nearest emergency facility.
