Overweight cats outnumber cats of normal weight and are being seen more and more commonly by veterinarians for various disorders. It’s not healthy for a cat to be fat as obesity in cats can predispose the cat to diabetes, hepatic lipidosis and arthritis.
Skinny was an overweight cat. He was adopted by Dr. Brittney Barton, a member of the Dallas-based veterinary clinic, Heal Veterinary, in 2012. When Skinny was adopted he weighed a whopping 42 pounds.
A little love and some diet changed everything for Skinny. He was able to lose a some weight, about 21 pounds! His transformation is truly amazing, he looks like a totally different cat now.
Skinny has his own Facebook page, ‘I am Skinny the Cat‘, where you can follow him. He is a happy cat and much healthier than before! He spends weekdays with Dr. Barton at the clinic and weekends at home with his family.
