Meet Nigel, a cute ginger kitten who was rescued in July 2017 and was missing a section of his nose and upper lip, likely from some form of trauma. He was found near a dumpster in Boston.
Nigel stayed in a few foster places and at the MSPCA until he was big enough to undergo a reconstruction surgery. The surgery was carried out on November 2, 2017, at the MSPCA’s Angell Animal Medical Center and it turned out to be a success.
“We’re happy to report that Nigel is out of surgery and his nose and face are gonna look a whole lot better,” MSPCA-Angell wrote on Facebook.
Nigel had a long way to recovery but the vets said his recovery was GREAT. He regained his strength. There were many great homes that wanted to take him and it was not easy for the shelter stuff to choose the perfect family for him but on Thanksgiving day Nigel met his new mom who is a certified vet tech!
‘You guys! I’m so excited! I’m heading home for Thanksgiving! Can you tell I absolutely LOVE my new mom!? There were so many great homes that wanted to take me and the Shelter staff had a really hard time picking, but I’m heading home to live with two other young cats and my mom is ready to manage any upcoming medical issues I may have because she’s a certified vet tech! And don’t worry!! She’s promised to keep up my Instagram page so that you can all see how I’m doing! Yay!!’ Nigel wrote on Instagram.
